### Update Signals from Real Macs

When other Updatest users install a newer version of an app, that version can appear as an update for you.

This works especially well for apps that don't publish reliable update feeds. The Updatest Network never replaces existing sources—it simply adds live version signals from real Macs.

No personal data, device identifiers, or usage information ever leaves your Mac.

(An app bundle identifier is just a technical name apps already use internally.)

## How it works

When the Updatest Network is enabled, Updatest anonymously syncs the app bundle identifiers and versions installed on your Mac. This information is used only to compare versions across the network.

If other users are already running a newer version of the same app, that version can appear as an available update for you.

No downloads, installers, or update actions are shared. Only version information.
